Pats is ok but my real favorite is GENOS---yummmmm. It's worth waiting in line! (I've never even seen a line at Pats! Have you? I like it with red hot peppers and oodles of fried onions!

Provided by SuperpagesTried Pat's and Geno's the same day. Both decent, have had better cheese steaks elsewhere.

Provided by DexKnowsI can't believe that I'm the first one to review this place! Well, the question is, Pat's or Geno's? Geno's or Pat's. Bring a big appetite to Passayunk Ave. and try both as they are on opposite corners. Safe neighborhood.

The hackneyed term, tourist trap, definitely does not apply to Pat's. Pat's is the original and still the best. Pat's uses the finest possible cut of beef for the price, grills it to sizzling perfection, shoves it into a mouthwatering roll, and tops it with tasty cheeses. Yeah, the store is run down and the servers are rude, but this is South Philly, after all. Pat's prices are no higher than the competition's. That makes Pat's steaks a bargain because they taste far better yet cost about the same. The fries are merely average in flavor quality. Pat's fish cakes are surprisingly delicious and fresh tasting, especially considering that they are frozen. You might also like the spicy roast pork and the Chicago-style hot dogs. As expected in this hood, sodas are way overpriced.

Overated it's where tourists go for a sub-par cheese steak, there's a hundred places within a mile that have better,

Provided by SuperpagesPat's has become the benchmark of the Philly cheesesteak. At times, they are the absolute best, but more often that you'd expect from the '"King of Steaks", you get a bad one. The only solid gripe I'd have is that the attitude you get there is a straight up turnoff. Rarely do you get friendly service. The typical experience is a great steak from a "rude dude". Still, you go because you want a Pat's. Period.

Provided by SuperpagesPat's is definately the way it is supposed to be. If you don't like Pat's then you really don't like Philly Cheesesteaks.

Provided by SuperpagesMy family and I went to both this steak shop, as well as Geno's and found them both to be a disappointment. The steaks were cold and the cheese was just slapped on.No melted cheese on this sandwich. What a waste of our money.Highly overrated.
