16oz Kenya Nyeri Kiamabara
Process: Wet; Varietal: SL-28, SL-34; Altitude: 1900 masl. This coffee comes to us from the Kiamabara factory, located near the town of Nyeri. This is a cooperative coffee - part of the Mugaga Farmers Cooperative Society - but in Kenya they're called "factories" which is quite fitting really. Think of factories as an assembly line of sorts, where there is absolute consistency to the product output. This rings true for coffees that come from many of the Kenya factories. Year after year they have an astonishing ability to consistently produce sweet, clean, and complex coffees. Like most of the cooperatives in the area, members tend to much smaller plots of coffee trees than their estate farm competition, thus having more control over the production of ripe cherry. The average altitude is right around 1900 masl and most of the small holder farmers contributing to this washing station grow SL-28, and SL-34 cultivars (Bourbon hybrid from the 1930's developed by Scot Labs).

16oz Ethiopia Zonegediyo Gedeb
Process: Wet; Varietal: Heirloom; Gedeb District is located in the the southern part of Yirga Cheffe in the Gedeo Zone ("Zonegediyo"), and is also the name of the site where the coffee is collected and dried on elevated beds. This Gedeb site has roughly 700 local farmers who bring their coffee here for wet-processing, drying and hand-sorting. The farms are little more than large 'gardens' adjacent to homes, growing heirloom native to the region. Farmers deliver their coffee as whole cherry to the station where it is graded, fully washed, and then laid out on drying beds. The coffee is again sorted after dry-milling in order to identify any additional defects that were missed at the drying beds. Competition in the region for cherry is quite strong so farmers are paid well, especially for ripe cherry selection.

16oz El Salvador Loma La Gloria Los Torditos
Continent: Central America; Country: El Salvador; Region: El Boqueron, San Salvador Volcano; Varietal: Bourbon; Farm: Loma La Gloria; Process: Washed; Altitude: 1400-1500 Meters; Grade: SHB; Certification: Direct Trade. Loma La Gloria is located on the slopes of the San Salvador Volcano's crater known as El Boqueron. They are blessed with this location because of the micro-climate which includes Volcanic soil, cool nights, warm sun filtered through the shade trees and gentle rains. The farm goes from 1,200 meters up to 1,839 meters at the crater's rim. Anny Ruth Pimentel says her passion and love for coffee is her daily inspiration. She feels proud of the coffee beans she grows, mills and exports and enjoys being able to take care of every step of the process to assure the quality and traceability of the beans.
